Hospital bed is the centerpiece of the patient-care environment at home or facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living. It allows for positioning and safety, not possible with standard beds. The most popular types of hospital beds include: The Semi-Electric Hospital Bed that allows for raising and lowering the head and the knee break through the use of an automatic hand-held control. Raising the entire bed height is accomplished through use of a manual crank; and the Full-Electric Hospital Bed that allows for the raising and lowering functions of the head and knee break, along with the entire bed height adjustment is operated by a hand-held control.
